Opposite Of My Favorite Blogs

I’m feeling frustrated with my blogging progress, mostly because it still feels aimless.

I keep telling myself that’s okay, that’s the whole point of starting a blog under the moniker of austinjames.blog instead of something niche like foodtruckingdudeextreme.com.

I think the reason I feel this way is because I’ve tried other blogs modeled like my favorite blogs–where there were less frequent posts but the posts were excellent.

The problem I ran into was no matter how perfect I made the posts…nobody read them.

So, starting this blog, I asked myself What if I do the opposite of what I normally do?

What if instead of getting the perfect .com name, I instead get a .blog?

What if instead of crafting the perfect post and only putting out a handful of them each month, I instead wrote frequent posts that were “good enough” and I launched them as soon as they were done?

What if instead of writing in a narrow niche, I wrote about whatever I wanted to write about?

Maybe this will be a dead end too, but in the worst case scenario I will figure out one more way to not become a successful blogger and writer.

What about you?

Maybe you wanna blog too? Or maybe it’s something else you’ve been chasing for a long time and it hasn’t come to fruition. Have you tried asking yourself “What if I do the opposite of what I normally do?”

Sometimes the opposite is NOT what you should do. The point of the question is to get you to consider strategies you might not have considered before for one reason or another.

For me, I really, really, really wanted to be the blogger that only writes epic posts.

But I had to let go of that aspiration and try something different.

The jury is still out.

But I am hopeful this new strategy will ultimately lead me to success.

Hopefully, you’ll give a new strategy a try too!

Good Luck!
