I just stopped over at NomadicMatt.com and was pleasantly surprised to see this recent post announcing that he is going to travel blog again!
Now, there has still been a ton of posts on his blog, but most of them have been like “Top 10 Cheap Hotels In Istanbul.” But his old school way of blogging from back in the day hasn’t been seen in years.
I understand why, though. He feels he has said all he needs to say on the topic of travel since he has been blogging for something like 15 years.
But this is a big deal for sentimental guys like me. I used to follow Matt’s blog religiously and it has led me to taking an epic UK-Ireland-Paris trip and then working on cruise ships for 2.5 years. I never achieved his level of success in long-term travel, but I had some success.
And just recently, my family and I took a week long California trip and my travel bug instincts have been reignited–so now that I’m nearly 40, I’m thinking it’s time to follow in Matt’s footsteps again (with my family in tow, of course).
Anyway, that’s all I have to say for today. Just had to put it out there that an OG bloggers is blogging again. Very exciting stuff!
