When I was a kid like all kids I had the classic Fisher-Price cash register, which they still make. I swear we were issued that thing the moment we were born. Every kid had one.
So, partly because we thought our kids would like it and partly for nostalgic reasons (not a real childhood if you don’t have a play cash register!) we bought them a play cash register. Instead of going with the classic we went with the Learning Resources version.
Why?
Because, to be honest, it’s way better than the classic. For starters, 4.5 stars and 13,000+ reviews. Not bad!
The Learning Resources Play Cash Register comes with 73 pieces, mostly in the form of different cash denominations so the kids can learn about that. There is a credit card. A real, working calculator with over-sized kid buttons powered by solar is what really sets this play register apart from the classic.

In my opinion, this is the best play cash register on the market today. My kids have come up with a myriad of games with it, including using it as a ticket machine for their shows they put on for us. We have the red one but it comes in pink too.
