Ho! Ho! Ho! It’s Thanksgiving but I see Christmas everywhere! Oh well, what can a man do?
I hope that you, reader, have a wonderful Thanksgiving and hopefully you have a long weekend! I’ve sure been having a lot of fun getting this blog moving and, amazingly, there have been a handful of people that have somehow found it and have spent some time within my posts!
For that I am grateful and thrilled!
Usually Google puts every new blog in a ~6 month sandbox period but for some reason some of my articles are already showing up in search results (albeit for very obscure searches, but they are still there!). My most popular one appears to be the silly, tongue-in-cheek article 7 Life Lessons From The “The Beekeeper” Movie.
Even though my traffic has been very minor, it tells me I’m on the right track and that my gut instinct is correct–people and Google, are craving actual blogs run by real humans and not populated by clunky A.I. articles or written by a team of overseas writers writing for keywords instead of writing for humans.
Yes, I believe a new Golden Age of blogging is upon us for those who are willing to seize the opportunity! If you’ve poked around or listen to the blogging scene, you know that everybody is in panic mode and crying about how Google slashed traffic, how Google did unfair updates, how Google is sending people to AI results instead of to their blogs–well, guess what–Google was sick of the slop bloggers were serving up. When was the last time you got excited by a blog?
I used to get excited by blogs all the time. There was interesting stuff going on. But then they all started writing for keywords, started chasing money instead of creating value (the funny part is that bloggers who create value make money almost as a side-effect and those who chase money end up nuking their blog), and essentially started writing crap articles.
So, yes, for this Thanksgiving I am thankful for you dear, readers, and I am Thankful that 99% of bloggers betrayed their audience in the name of money and that Google has now nuked their blogs, creating a clear lane for a new group of bloggers like me, who just want to create good stuff for the readers.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
